How To Remove Bowl From KitchenAid Mixer

Generally, two different Kitchenaid mixer models are available. One is Tilt-head stand mixer and the other is Bowl lift mixer. 

Tilt-Head Stand Mixer

Step 1

Firstly, switch off your KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixer for safety purposes. Unplug it and unlock the tilt motor head of the stand mixer by pushing the locking lever. Then, lift the motor head.  

Step 2

Next, push the mixer attachment like the flat beater, wire whip on the beater shaft. Turn it on the left side to unlock from the pin and pull it firmly. Then, grasp the mixer bowl handles and twist them to the left in the counterclockwise direction. 

Step 3

Finally, pull the bowl so that it comes out of the base plate. 

Bowl Lift Stand Mixer

Step 1

At first, turn off your KitchenAid bowl lift stand mixer and unplug it. Lower the bowl by putting the bowl lift handle to the down position. 

Step 2

Then, push the flat beater shaft slightly to remove the mixer attachment from the shaft. Also, push the shaft so that it gets detached from the mixer attachment. Turn flat beater shaft to the left to unhook from the locking pin. After that, grasp the bowl lift handle and put your other hand on the bowl front. Unhook the bowl from the pins by pressing slightly on the handle of the bowl.

Step 3

In the end, pull the bowl in order to remove it from the mixer. 

Important Tips To Remove Bowl From KitchenAid Mixer

Sometimes the traditional tips that we mentioned above might not work properly. In that case, we suggest maintaining the following tips to remove your bowl from the mixer:

  • Wrap the base of your bowl with a wet towel. Keep it for around 10 minutes. Afterward, check if you can move the bowl a little.
  • Alternatively, use some mineral oil and spray on the mixer’s grooves. You will find the grooves on the mixer’s base. Avoid using any food-based oils for the lubrication process. Since they are very sticky, you will find them difficult to clean later.
